L’Oréal South Africa Citizen Day 2015

Over 300 L’Oréal South Africa employees participated in the L’Oréal Citizen Day held in Johannesburg on Friday, 14th August 2015 dedicating one day to help communities and partner organisations. L’Oréal South Africa partnered with Gift of the Givers, Stop Hunger Now and other local charities to make a difference through a host of activities undertaken by employees. An important activity was the packing and distribution of food packs, hygiene packs and children’s party packs to different charities.

A second group of employees hosted a party at the Ethembeni Children’s Home and a third group of employees worked at the Gift Of the Givers Alexander vegetable garden for the day.

The collective Citizen Day effort has been gathering momentum over the last 6 years with a growing participation rate which makes it possible to provide citizen-related initiatives that can have an amazing impact and an enduring partnership with local associations,” said Sandeep Rai, L’Oréal South Africa Country Manager. “At L’Oréal we are fully convinced that we have an important role to play as a Corporate citizen.”

In 2015, over 24,000 employees participated in Citizen Day worldwide, reaching 32,000 beneficiaries in 420 different associations. L’Oréal employees from all the group’s entities - subsidiaries, headquarters, research centres, and plants - participated in a diverse range of activities.

L’Oréal Citizen Day was launched internationally in 2010 with the aim of embodying L'Oréal's commitment to social responsibility during one day of collective voluntary action by its employees.

This year on te 8th of July we will partner with the New Jerusalem Home which houses over 80 children. Different activities will be done throughout the premises in order to improve and renovate their home.
